Walking together in the Lord!

Recently, we had the great joy of celebrating the 20th anniversary of our Servants of the Gospel Community. God called us into being and we were born on September 27th, 2002. The motto we chose was: “Walking together in the Lord”. We were able to reflect this by bringing together the different states of life of the community. Laity, married couples, SMY (Servant Missionary Youth), consecrated men and women, priests and friends, who, in some way, are part of our Family, were all represented.

To start the celebration, we listened to different testimonies from different walks of life and it was a contagion of faith, life and joy. Through their words they transmitted  deep gratitude  for everything  we have shared together over these last twenty years; faith, fraternal life, mercy, mutual help in the mission, personal and community growth and prayer. In everything we have experienced, we can see how the hand of God, our good and provident Father has been guiding us until today.

Groups

We then divided into small groups to talk about the face of God that has gradually been revealed to us over the years and what initially attracted us to the Community. It was a moment to look back on so many memories, so much LIFE lived. We could have gone on for a lot longer but we couldn’t miss the buffet and party that was waiting. It was the younger members of the community that led the party but we were all able to dance and share in the   entertainment. Above all, it was a family atmosphere where everyone had a place.

Mass

We ended our meeting with a Mass presided over by Monsignor Nannini, Bishop of San Miguel, and concelebrated by the priests who were present. Monsignor Nannini accompanies us as a Community, and in his homily he encouraged us to keep moving forward. He highlighted some points that he perceives as essential in us such as mercy and fraternity as well as noting the time and dedication that we gave to prayer and formation for the mission.

We thank God for the occasion and for all those who accompanied us with love, presence and prayer on that day. God continues to guide us, sustain us and encourage us as we carry out our mission in the Church, offering our unique contribution. Thank you Lord for all you have done for us in these twenty years! May there be many more to come! Walking together in the Lord.
