You shall be my people and I will be your God!

On Saturday, February 6th, Annette Wiesmann and María Gisella Corti made their first promises of consecration in the town of Moreno, in the province of Buenos Aires. The motto they chose to express the step they were taking of giving their lives to God was: “You shall be my people and I will be your God” Ez36; 28.

The Bishop of San Miguel, Damián Naninni presided over the Mass, accompanied by several priests and deacons who were invited as friends. It was a very emotional and fraternal occasion. Not only those of us who had the opportunity to be present  were able to witness the Yes of our sisters , but also many who participated in the celebration through  social media from all over the world.

Throughout the afternoon the celebration continued in a lighthearted fashion: both guests and sisters from the community laughed and joked as they watched Annette and Maria Gisella take part in a quiz and remembered anecdotes of times shared together. At the end, everyone had the opportunity to express their heartfelt wishes for them with love.

This Yes, which began to take shape a long time ago and has now become a visible sign in these first promises, is a gift for all of us. At the same time it is a commitment. We´re committed to accompany this call as brothers and sisters in community and to keep the desire alive in both them and us with every step they take.

The certainty that God loved us and called us first and makes us his people, his community fills us with joy. This makes our heart get bigger every day. As it expands, it has room for new names and new faces. That is why we are ready to continue this adventure as a part of the Servants of the Gospel family.
